Join the committee

The Commitment

If you are considering putting your name forward as a nominee for the Management Committee you need to know what commitment the organisation will make to you.

The Management Committee will hold approximately 9 meetings a year (once every 6 weeks excluding August). These meetings will last an average of two hours each. In emergency situations you will also be asked to attend special Management Committee meetings. It is the responsibility of each Committee member to ensure that apologies are sent to the Centre before the meeting takes place.

You will be expected to work with other members of the Management Committee helping to develop policies.

Conclusion

Running and managing Faces in focus is an exciting opportunity to join other like-minded people in promoting the interests of young people in London. Although the work of managing the organisation will be hard work, being on our Management Committee will also be fun and will certainly be a good learning experience. You will have the opportunity to learn from your colleagues on the Committee, from paid staff and volunteers. At the same time we will gain from your skills and experience. Many people find that being on a Management Committee is fulfilling, increases confidence and gives great job satisfaction.
